They Saw…I Have Seen
Last Sunday I listened to a sermon on the resurrection from the account in Luke. I love the way our pastor preaches through a whole book, making sure the context is woven throughout. He cited a quote that people will often mistakenly die for a lie, but no one will ever die for a lie they don’t believe. Which lends credence to Jesus’ life and resurrection by the sheer numbers of first century disciples who chose death over lying about seeing the risen Christ.
The women at the tomb, Peter, Saul on the road…all of them SAW the resurrected Jesus. And it changed them. The sheer magnitude of experiencing Him gave them the boldness and courage to spread His viral message of salvation.
I have seen…
The power of Jesus in my own life, on so many occasions. In Revelations 12:11 we are told “…they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” And it reminded me how we are to remember and reflect upon all the great things He has done for us…
⭐Like healing years of infertility and blessing us with SEVEN healthy pregnancies and deliveries.
⭐ Like blessing a little idea for a blog into a company that is growing for the purpose of helping women see freedom in the way they were created by God’s design.
⭐ Like the time I was running out of gas on the way to visit my dad, and I prayed to make it to the next station on fumes, only to be blessed by the cashier giving me $5 to get home.
⭐Like transforming ME (and my marriage) by steadily conforming me into Biblical womanhood after a long period of feminist immersion.
⭐Like thinking of me as He died on the cross, knowing that I would never be perfect, but standing in my place anyway.
I spend most of my days filled with hope, knowing that the God of big miracles is also the God of small miracles. And that “good” things will come from my life, as long as I keep stripping away the artifice, and whispering with a shaking breath…
Thy will be done…
Sometimes life is quiet and uneventful. Sometimes life is turbulent and painful. And sometimes we’re in a season of fiery refinement with the promise of a new thing on the horizon.
Whatever season you’re in today, I hope you take some time and think about what you have seen…how the God who appeared to Moses in a burning bush and raised Lazarus from the dead, wants to work tiny miracles in your life every day. The secret to a Radiant Life, is not being the author of it…in handing it over to the One who knows your future and purpose and plans.
